- U.S. Hispanic Community and Other Spanish-speaking Minorities Targeted -

Gaithersburg, MD (June 2, 2003) -- In an effort to meet the increasing needs of low-to-moderate-income Hispanic homebuyers, AmeriDream, Inc. today launched a Spanish-language version of its popular Web site.

The site, along with the organization’s Spanish-language brochures, provides information to Spanish-speaking individuals about The AmeriDream Downpayment Gift Program, a program designed to promote affordable housing and increase minority homeownership nationwide. The program has already helped more than 100,000 homebuyers by providing closing and down payment costs of up to 5 percent of the home’s value.

“By working with the Bush Administration’s initiative to increase minority homeownership, AmeriDream has helped increase the number of low- to moderate-income families achieve the dream of homeownership,” said Ann Ashburn, AmeriDream’s CEO. “The new Spanish-language Web site is an extension of our minority outreach that should further increase the number of minority homeowners.”

A special feature of the Web site is a streamlined application process for The AmeriDream Downpayment Gift Program, which saves time for lenders and title or settlement companies. Lenders, closing agents and other real estate professionals also can save time and effort by registering their companies online.  Once registered online, real estate professionals can have their information automatically populated into applications and forms for future transactions.  Additionally, multiple applications from various branches of the same mortgage or title company can be easily managed at one location.

The Spanish version of the AmeriDream, Inc. Web site contains much of the same content on the English site translated into Spanish, including: links to photographs and customer testimonials, information on properties rehabilitated through The AmeriDream Redevelopment Program, details of AmeriDream’s charitable giving, information on AmeriDream’s partnerships and much more. The Web site also provides easy access to information about AmeriDream’s new loss mitigation program, AmeriDream Solutions, Inc.

The AmeriDream Spanish-language Web site can be viewed at www.ameridream.org.
